FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What if I have not taken the CGFNS examinations yet, can I still apply?
The CGFNS Qualifying Exam is required by more than 85% of the respective State Board of Nursing all over the United States. For example in the East Coast, the necessity of taking this exam serves as a pre-requisite to the success of your NCLEX-RN examination. You will need to check requirements with the State Board of Nursing on the state of which you intend to practice. For more information, you may visit their website at www.ncsbn.org. However, in order to process your application for an Immigrant Visa, we highly recommend that you pass the CGFNS examination, as this is your key for this type of application.

If I will be petitioned as a nurse, how long exactly is the immigration process before I am finally authorized to work in the US?
Applicants from the Philippines need to wait for 8-12 months to process their I-140 (Petition for an Immigrant Worker). This entire process undergoes stages of developments involving the United States BCIS (Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services), National Visa Center Processing and the United States Embassy in the Philippines.

How long is the working contract?
Most of the employers require that you work with them for at least two (2) years, especially if they are the sponsoring facility.

What are the benefits I can get from this petition?
Every employer may offer different benefits and incentives but generally, their packages include the following:

  Paid (Sick/Vacation) Leaves
  401K Retirement Plan (Optional)
  Medical and Dental Coverage

What happens if I did not pass the NCLEX?
NCLEX is given every three (3) months. If you failed, then you don't have to worry because you can re-take the exam as many as you want, for EVERY 3 MONTHS. It is imperative that you pass the NCLEX in order to legally practice the profession of a Registered Nurse in the US.
