VisionQwest Healthcare USA has decided to close the Philippine operations due to United States economic and immigration issues that affect Philippino nurses and other healthcare workers. Effective December 1, 2009 the Makati offices have been closed and all suspension of petitions and contracting with nurses will no longer be offered to Philippino healthcare professional. Because of the economic downturn in the United States economy more US nurses and other professional have available time to be used by VisionQwest Healthcare. Many of the hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and surgery centers have cut back on hours given to regular nursing staff and more of these nurses are now working per diem as needed by VisionQwest Healthcare. VisionQwest may return to the Philippines depending on various changes that affect the economy, the need for new nurses, and the availablity of working or immigrant visas.
